The SITE Cohort Study has significantly advanced the field of ophthalmology by contributing 17 papers out of 96 (17.7%) that the American Uveitis Society has identified as the top ~10 papers of the year for resident ophthalmologist training since its inception in 2009 through 2017, more than any other cohort study. These peer-reviewed publications have highlighted critical findings related to noninfectious uveitis, ocular inflammation, and ocular complications, and they have been presented and discussed at over 40 peer-reviewed scientific meetings worldwide. Additionally, the SITE Cohort Study has garnered 17 awards in recognition of its contributions to clinical research and its impact on visual acuity outcomes, particularly in the use of immunosuppressive agents.
